Katie & Ross

Katie & Ross at Forbes of Kingennie

After having to postpone their wedding in 2021 due to uncertainties around Covid restrictions, Katie & Ross eventually got to say their “I do’s” at the beautiful Forbes of Kingennie Country Resort in July 2022.

After a couple of weeks of blazing sunshine and high temperatures I was relieved to see the forecast was to be a bit cooler with some cloud around, I packed the brollies to be on the safe side and set off with Louise to see the girls all getting their glam on.

Katie along with her wee girl Lucy, 5 bridesmaids, and her mum were all in one of the lovely Forbes of Kingennie lodges. The girls were all very laid back and relaxed and we spent a fab few hours with them all whilst Jodie took care of their hair and Chloe was in charge of the girls make-up.

I left the girls to their pampering and went to check on Ross and his mates who had taken over one of the largest lodges at the venue.

After Louise offered her assistance sorting their button holes I got them all outside, partly so they could get some fresh air but mainly for some photos!

After our catch up with the guys we headed back to the bride tribe to finish the bridal prep shots and of course get Katie into her stunning MiaMia gown from Alison Kirk Bridal.

Katies Dad, Andrew, was waiting at the top of the stairs for the first look, admitting that he was a very emotional guy, he struggled to hold back the tears. Katie gifted him a beautiful frame to hold a photo of their walk down the aisle, inscribed with “Dad, of all the walks we’ve taken together, this one is my favourite”.

With the Bridal party now ready we spent 10 minutes capturing the usual pre ceremony shots.

The bridal party walked the short distance to the ceremony whilst Katie was driven by her Uncles partner, Han.

Ross and his Groomsmen, along with the guests were patiently waiting Katies entrance in the Buddon Burn Suite, flooded with sunlight and with gorgeous views across the lochs it made for a perfect setting.

Katie was escorted down the aisle by her Dad to “I get to love you” by Ruelle, bringing a wee tear to Ross’s eyes, and I’m sure a few more of the guests were a bit teary too!

The ceremony was conducted by Valerie from Angus Registrars.

Following the ceremony, guests followed the newly weds outside for the group photo and confetti shots. This was also a good opportunity to catch a few candid shots.

Before taking Katie & Ross for their couple photos I took a few shots of them with their number one girl, Lucy.

Theres a lovely circular walk around the 2 fishing lochs at Forbes of Kingennie so I took Katie & Ross for a wee wander to get their couple shots.

After the couple photos we headed back to the main venue and I gave Katie & Ross the chance to relax and mingle with their guests while I took some more natural shots.

I discussed group photos with Katie & Ross before the wedding to ensure no-one was missed. Louise did a fab job gathering the guests for their group shots which we did in front of one of the lochs.

Once the group shots were done guests were encouraged to take their seats for the speeches prior to the wedding breakfast. I managed to sneak in a few more candid shots during this time.

The Speeches were done before the meal, Andrew, Ross and Liam all did a brilliant job and there was a good balance of tears and laughter!

We had a good amount of time between the meal finishing and the evening reception so we took this opportunity to head round to the Boat House for some early evening photos.

The evening is all about the candid photos and I had a great time in amongst the guests getting some sneaky shots.

Before the boogying started Katie and Ross took to the forefront to cut their “Celebration Stations” cake. The Socials started the evening off with Tom Walkers, “Better half of me” for the first dance. Louise and I stayed for the first few tunes to capture some fun on the dancefloor.

Louise and I had the most wonderful day with Katie & Ross and all their family and friends. Thank you for allowing us to be part of it all!

Wee shout out to all the suppliers 😉
