Lynne & Alasdair

Lynne & Alasdair contacted me after they initially made plans to marry in Blairgowrie, however they changed their mind on location, deciding to have their wedding closer to home. They opted for the stunning Raemoir House, and I’m so glad they did – it was a beautiful setting.

Following crazy thunderstorms on the Friday night I was delighted to wake up to glorious sunshine on the morning of the wedding, a quick check of the forecast and I knew we were in for a cracking day.

When I arrived at Raemoir I found Alasdair with his best man, cousin Scott, and his nephew and ring-bearer, Aaron. Following some instructions given as to where guests were to be seated I took them outside for some pre-ceremony photos.

There was a bit of hilarity when I suggested Alasdair & Scott get their hip flasks out for a wee dram, Scott went inside to get his, then struggled to get it open…then discovered his hip flask was actually a compass…we just pretended!!

I left the guys to relax prior to the ceremony and headed to see Lynne who was getting ready in the bridal suite with her daughter, Gemma, and granddaughter, Olivia. Kelly from Kavak Hair and Nails was in charge of the girls locks and Kayley of Makeup by Kayley took care of their make-up. They both looked beautiful. Lynne was already in her gorgeous Justin Alexander gown from Midnight Elegance and Gemma was just finishing the buttoning up – perfect photo opportunity!

The bouquets were created by The Secret Garden, and Lynne added a beautiful pendant photo of her late parents, gifted to her by her sister Diane and brother-in-law Dave, ensuring they were with her on her special day.

With the girls all looking radiant we had the chance to grab some posed photos. Wee Olivia was pretending to be shy so had to be a bit sneaky with her!

I don’t think there was a dry eye in the house (I was certainly welling up), when Lynne, escorted by Brother-in-law Dave, began her walk down the aisle to Eva Cassidys “Songbird”.

Alasdair and Lynne had chosen to have a humanist ceremony. This was conducted by the lovely Colette Strachan. They added some lovely personal touches, Alasdairs cousin read a poem and Lynnes niece, Becca, performed a beautiful rendition of Eddi Readers, “It’s Magic” during the signing of the register. I feared at one point that I would miss the “I do’s” when escape artist, Olivia, decided she wanted to explore.. luckily I managed to coax her back into the ceremony room!

After the ceremony the guests followed the new Mr & Mrs into the bar and drawing room areas to offer their congratulations.

The grounds at Raemoir are beautiful so after relaxing with their guests for 15 minutes Lynne and Alasdair joined me for a walk round the gardens for their couple photos.

After a bit more mingling it was time for the group photos, starting with the Confetti!

I then spent a wee while chasing Olivia about the lawn…

…before finishing off the groups!

I had an absolute blast with Lynne, Alasdair and their guests; and felt completely honored to have been a part of their special day.

I finished the day with the cutting of the cake, that Lynne baked with her own fair hands 🙂
